Community Groups
The following groups use the Hall on a regular basis:
Art Classes
A long-running and high successful art class is held at the hall on most Saturdays.
Badminton
Kelbrook Badminton Club is one of the hall’s longest running user groups and has continued to use the hall over the years. The club uses the hall for social and competitive events.
Indoor bowls
The hall hosts bowls during the winter months for those who enjoy the bowls green at Sough Park during the rest of the year.
Kelbrook Painting Group
Working in a range of mediums and involving artists of different experience and abilities, this group uses the Annex on Tuesday afternoons.
Kelbrook Kiddies
Kelbrook Kiddies meet every Friday morning between 9.30am and 11.30am in the Village hall. The group aims to create a happy, friendly environment where parents and carers can meet for a chat and a drink and give their children somewhere to play safely. The group provides a range of toys suitable for all pre-school ages, simple craft activities, singing and story time. The cost is £1.50 per week irrespective of the number of children you bring.
Ladies Guild
This group is one of the keenest supporters of the hall. The Ladies Guild involves ladies of all ages from the local community in a range of activities. This group plays an active role in supporting village hall fundraising events or make donations to the hall or other worthy causes from their own events such as the Big Breakfast.
Luncheon Club
Council provided service, supported by local volunteers, for senior citizens - offering good food and company. This group enjoys the amenities offered by the hall Annex every Monday.
St Mary's Church
The Church of England parish church of St Mary’s is in the centre of Kelbrook – see www.kelbrook.bradford.anglican.org/ or contact Hugh (the vicar) on 01282 844877. St Mary’s often use the hall after Sunday worship. Sundays at St Mary’s at 11am – first Sunday: ‘Liquid Worship’, second, fourth and fifth Sundays: ‘Holy Communion’, Third Sunday: ‘Morning Worship’. Liquid worship includes a time to explore different worship zones around the church involving: craft, prayer, story, confession, reflection, Bible study; this gives flexibility and allows people of different ages and learning preferences to encounter God in a special way. Fridays at 9.15am: First and Third Holy Communion using the Book of Common Prayer. Here for support, Baptisms, Marriages and Funerals.
Super Troupers
The Super Troupers meet on Tuesday nights at Kelbrook Village Hall. New members are always welcome, and although primarily a group of tap dancers various fundraising activities and social outings are organised throughout the course of the year. The Super Troupers are a tap dance group that has been going for over 10 years.
Toddle into Church
A parent and toddlers group organized through St Mary’s Church. Come and have fun every Tuesday in the village hall between 10.30am to 11.30am. You can bounce on the bouncy castle, enjoy a craft activity, use the special Bible story library, sing and play musical instruments, listen to stories about you and God and have yummy juice and biscuits. Parents and carers can have tea or coffee and we ask for a donation of £1 towards running costs. Further details are available from Hugh (the vicar), on 01282 844877.
Yoga with Kit
Kit leads the group (Tel. 864723 for further details). The group meets on Wednesday evenings 7pm – 8.30pm |
